QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about choosing, using and ordering your CollectorBox.
1. Which CollectorBox size should I choose?
Measure your object at its widest, longest and deepest points, then choose a case that leaves a little extra space around the specimen for a cleaner presentation. Deeper formats such as S+, L+ and L++ are better suited to thicker objects.
2. What can I display in a CollectorBox?
CollectorBox cases are suitable for a wide range of collectibles, including fossils, minerals, coins, insects, jewellery, archaeological finds, medals, seeds, shells and other small specimens.
3. What is the difference between standard and “+” sizes?
“+” models offer additional depth while keeping a similar footprint, making them more suitable for thicker or three-dimensional specimens.
4. Are CollectorBox cases suitable for insects and natural history specimens?
Yes, depending on the size and depth required. For pinned insects, choose a case with sufficient internal depth and use an appropriate mounting method.
5. How do I know if my object will fit?
Compare the listed product dimensions with the maximum dimensions of your specimen. If in doubt, choose the next size up to allow more presentation space around the object.
6. What is included with each CollectorBox?
Each case arrives ready to use, with a glass lid, a foam interior and locking pins. No assembly is needed.
7. How should I clean my CollectorBox?
Gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals.
